TARA KENNEDY
TEXTILE ARTIST
CONTINUOUS
A 37 meter long wrapped piece using Icelandic yarn, horse hair, raw sheep's wool, fish skins and yarn dyed with Icelandic plants. The repetition of technique helped to express the continuous and endless landscape. The changing colours depict all the colours I experienced, from the black volcanic sand, the grey basalt rocks, the turquoise glacial waters and waterfalls, the deep blue sea, the pale blue hot spring mud pools, the snow, the brown lava fields, the lime lichen and the impressive dark green mountains.
These photographs were taken on the coast near Blonduos where much of my inspiration originated.
