AWAKENING BELIEF

Machine knitted lengths expressing pain and suffering emerging into hope. Using hand dyed yarn and the shibori technique to create a surface texture of raised shapes. The blood coloured shapes have been cut to give the impression of wounds, leaving the lighter shapes intact to express buds of hope. Each length is knotted throughout symbolising ideas of tension or togetherness and cascade down and flare out to convey the desire for hope to flourish.
